The Investment Analysts Society has partnered with the Profile Group, a top financial solutions provider, to create an investment portal that allows access to more market data and increases the network for IAS members. The new IAS portal, launched on 18th May 2022, provides a vital link between the listed companies and the investment community. It enables company presentations to be channeled through the portal directly to IAS members, both virtually and through hybrid live/webcast presentations.
The Portal is built with three pillars: Market Data, Communication and Company Research, housed on a network foundation.
The Market Data includes Company results presentations, JSE market data, SENS, Standardised historical financials, Annual Financial result PDFs and investment data like historical dividends, total return performance, corporate result analysis, etc.
Communication refers to the tool for the listed companies to make presentations to IAS members and the broad investment community with the assurance that they will be communicating to all investment professionals who want full details of company results and other corporate information that may influence investment decisions. It also enables IAS members to ask questions or establish communication with listed companies through the portal.
Company research relates to the power of a company or IAS member to reach out to an author of a research paper and the ability of company members to disseminate and generate income from the sales of their research to the IAS Portal community. Given the dearth of research papers, particularly on small and medium cap companies in South Africa, this research link will provide a vital and highly needed service.
The Investment Analysts Society has over a half-century history of delivering services to its members, including access to listed company presentations, and establishing the Investment Analysts Journal, a globally rated, peer-reviewed journal which publishes four issues a year. The Portal is a new platform that seeks to host a growing number of services available to IAS members and with a time delay to all investors in South Africa.
